Step into a vibrant Nordic live poker festival, where the field ranges from recreational players to tournament pros. The festival has a long history – it originally began as events aimed at Norwegian players who, for a period, were unable to play poker in their home country, and who, through the magazine Vi Menn, helped organize tournaments in Copenhagen. In 2024, the name was changed to Nordic Open, reflecting how the tournament has grown into a recognized Scandinavian poker festival, bringing together a strong Nordic field and offering a substantial prize pool.

The Nordic Open Main Event 2025 concluded after a record-breaking field of 923 entries, with a hectic final day ending in victory for Copenhagen’s Lars Petersen, who can now call himself Nordic Open champion.
The heads-up against Torben “Basse” Tvede Gøttler was short, as Lars held a significant chip lead. In the निर्णining hand, Basse went all-in with A♣T♥, Lars called with A♠5♥ – and hit a 5, securing the win and the first prize of DKK 500,000.

As tradition dictates, a Freezeout is played on Friday, along with a two-day tournament starting on Saturday, once the opportunity to buy into the Main Event has closed.
