Casino Copenhagen, Denmark’s first international casino, was granted a license by the Ministry of Justice in October 1990 and opened on December 31, 1990. As of January 1, 2019, the license has been renewed for a new ten-year period.
Casino Copenhagen K/S, which employs 150 staff members, is jointly owned by CIH Scandinavia Hotel and Casinos Austria International GmbH, Austria.
The casino, covering 3,000 m² across three floors, was designed by internationally renowned architects Professor Knud Holscher and Professor Rudolph Gschnitzer of Austria. In 2012, the casino underwent a major renovation, resulting in a more contemporary and Nordic look.
On the back wall of the casino, a series of Copenhagen’s historic and architectural masterpieces are depicted.
